Overall: Really interesting article. Article was nominated within 7 days of creation and is more than 1,500 words long in prose. No issues with sourcing. The hook is interesting and sourced. Earwig picked up an "unlikely copyright violation" of 33.3% that was mostly from the Spin article about Beck. The quote should be trimmed down as it looks grammatically awkward as is. @Lullabying: Thank you, appreciate the review! Adjusted the quote to minimize the awkward grammar. I don't quite see a way to trim it further without losing key details, and it's an attributed short quote so it's not a copyright problem, but open to suggestions. I was thinking it could be rewritten like The musician Beck told Spin in 1994 that when he lived in view of the sign that "he and his roommates would sit around at dusk, drinking beers and waiting for the sign to stop spinning."lullabying (talk) 18:52, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
@Lullabying: Sorry, I don't quite understand...using "that" before the quote, instead of a comma, seems a bit awkward too, since we'd have two instances of "that" close to each other in the sentence. Also just FYI, I removed the image from this nom because a person questioned whether the images of the sign should be designated as fair use, rather than relying on the CC-BY-SA license: Commons:Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Silverlake, Los Angeles. I'm not sure that's necessary, but since fair use images aren't suitable for DYK noms, I figured I'd proactively remove it here.Dreamyshade (talk) 06:11, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
The way it's worded sounds like it's Beck himself saying the actual line of quote ("He and his roommates") even though "he" is supposed to be about himself. The word "that" mitigates it. lullabying (talk) 23:43, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
