December 25 formation and former name
Steve Harris has now debunked both of these in print, twice this year: https://www.loudersound.com/bands-artists/steve-harris-interview-iron-maiden-early-years Charlotte the Harlot (talk) 18:37, 28 December 2025 (UTC)

Litigiousness
These jerks are absurdly protective of their trademark over a phrase coined over a century before any of them were born, but I can't find any reliable sources that address this. There's coverage of the individual lawsuits:
"Ion Maiden" video game lawsuit
"Iron and the Maiden" comic book lawsuit
"Maiden Wear" undergarments lawsuit
Almost anyone who ever covers these suits remarks on how over-reaching they are, but none of them seem aware that the lawsuit they're writing about isn't an isolated incident. I think their litigiousness deserves mention in this article; I'd argue it's what many people of my generation and younger know them from (the Ion Maiden lawsuit specifically), but my concern is that with no source explicitly recognizing the pattern, it would be Original Research. I couldn't find anything, but is anyone else aware of a reliable source discussing how lawsuit happy this band is? ~2025-34448-62 (talk) 00:10, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
- Tying the lawsuits together and making an overall statement would violate WP:SYNTH. It needs to be done like at Bose_Corporation#Legal_actions where sources are cited observing that Bose is litigious or overly protective of its IP. Binksternet (talk) 00:25, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
