@Ferkjl: Would you be so kind as to add the following education/teacher information somewhere near the top of my page. Perhaps an "Education" subsection?
- Jonathan Cohler graduated from Harvard University in 1980 with a degree in physics. His clarinet teachers include Pasquale Cardillo,[1][2] Harold Wright, Karl Leister, Charles Neidich and Frank Martin.[1]
TheClarinetGuy talk 12:54, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Cohler: Hi Jonathan. As soon as you find a published independent source for your Harvard studies (e.g. even from the Harvard Alumni site, such as this: https://www.physics.harvard.edu/people/graduates), I’ll add it. I don’t want to go about adding uncited statements. Ferkjl (talk) 17:09, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Ferkjl: Hi Ferkjl. Thanks for the quick response. I don't believe Harvard publishes that stuff online. Can I send you a page from the 2010 Harvard Alumni Directory published by Harvard? TheClarinetGuy talk 17:15, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Ferkjl: Ah wait! I spoke to soon. Here is an online alumni page. It shows my graduation date, degree, the house I lived in etc but doesn't seem to mention my major. Is that good enough? TheClarinetGuy talk 17:28, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Cohler: Absolutely. Per WP:OFFLINE, references do not have to be online exclusively. But don’t worry, I found one that we can use at https://longy.edu/team/jonathan-cohler/. It’s already implemented. Ferkjl (talk) 17:36, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Ferkjl: Thank you! Will you update the edit request template, or do I do that? TheClarinetGuy talk 17:52, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Cohler: Oooops, done.
Request to add citation and remove {{citation needed|date=January 2017}} tag
| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
@Ferkjl: Here is a source from the Library of Congress for the reference to me playing under conductor Carl Topilow at the end of the first paragraph. That's a performance from 1979 when I was in the orchestra. Can you use this to remove the tag? I'm also listed as notable alumnus on the Colorado Philharmonic Orchestra page where Carl Topilow is also mentioned. TheClarinetGuy talk 21:57, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Ferkjl: Thank you! TheClarinetGuy talk 02:44, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
Request to add citation for birth date and remove {{citation needed|date=January 2017}}

@Ferkjl: Here is a source for my birth date.[3]
- Thank you! If the reference you used works, that's great. You can sign up for a free trial of Ancestry.com and access the page. Ancestry sources its data to official birth records from the state of Massachusetts, which are hard-copy records, by the way. TheClarinetGuy talk 11:32, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
Request for addition to Discography Section

@Ferkjl: Can you please add the following new CD to my discography section? TheClarinetGuy talk 15:10, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
- 2021 Latin Journey with Rasa Vitkauskaite (piano), recital of works by Carlos Guastavino, Arturo Márquez, Paquito D'Rivera,
and Alberto Ginastera. Ongaku Records CD 024-130[4] [5]
Request to add OCLC link

@Ferkjl: Can you please add the following OCLC link in the discography section for my 2016 CD Cohler plays and conducts Weber. Following the format that previous editors have used, it should be inserted just before the catalog listing at the end where it says "Ongaku Records CD 024-126". Request for reevaluation of article 'Class'
![]() | This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. |
This article was tagged as 'Start Class' when it was created in 2008: {{WikiProject banner shell|class=Start}} The article seems to be far beyond 'Start Class' at this point with copious editing, references, organization, and bot cleanup since then. I would suggest, based on the listed criteria for class definitions, that this article could be rated 'GA' or 'B'?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Cohler (talk • contribs)
Not done: Looks more like a C to me, given the warning template on the article. You should address that first. ⸺(Random)staplers 23:20, 18 August 2024 (UTC)- Note: nowiking template by User:Cohler.⸺(Random)staplers 23:21, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- @(Random)staplers: Thank you for updating to C class! At least that's a step in the right direction.
- As for the autobiography tag, it was first added in 2008, the day after I created the article and authorized its use 16 years ago. Since then — as you can see from the diff here — (1) there have been copious substantive and organizational edits by numerous authors and bots, (2) it looks nothing like it did when it was first tagged, and (3) it looks nothing like an 'autobiography' or a 'resume'.
- It would be great if you can remove those tags! Thank you for your help in improving the article. TheClarinetGuy talk 16:13, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
