Notability
I find it hard to believe that someone would tag this article for notability. She is a Professor of Sociology, she has written several books published by leading academic presses, she has received an honorary doctorate at a reputable foreign university and she is a leading scholar in her field. PROD
Proposing this article for deletion under the PROD process. Subject does not meet the guidelines for academic notability, and the article is almost completely unsourced except for a single link to a university bio, which is not enough for a biography of a living person. nf utvol (talk) 12:21, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
RfC on Notability of Linda Haas
- The following discussion is an archived record of a request for comment. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
Does the subject of this article meet the Wikipedia:Notability (biography) or Wikipedia:Notability (academics) guidelines?
- Haas likely meets WP:AUTHOR based on multiple scholarly reviews of her works. TJMSmith (talk) 15:38, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Poor RfC, procedural close. It does not appear that there has been previous discussion of this matter, so an RfC would be premature. In addition, questions regarding an article subject's notability should generally be answered at an articles for deletion discussion, since that's rather the point of AfD, and if the consensus is that the subject is not notable, a solution possible at AfD such as deletion, merge, or redirection would be required.
