I guess we can assume that there are no longer any Nu Phi Mu chapters? Rublamb (talk) 22:52, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
I don't know. Were there any of that type in the extracted list?Naraht (talk) 01:37, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
None in the list. That tracks with the Greek chat discussion you found. Rublamb (talk) 01:52, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
Example of Nu Phi Mu as a "Junior Auxiliary" at https://www.wisconsinhistory.org/record/image/W011QDC . And on greekchat, see the commentary at https://greekchat.com/gcforums/showthread.php?t=10839 . So we look for them on college campuses?Naraht (talk) 01:42, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
Also referred to as a "Junior Affiliate". Also Pin image at https://www.ebay.com/itm/276854711325 and , https://www.etsy.com/listing/1884590009/nu-phi-mu-member-badge and https://www.etsy.com/listing/1634440518/nu-phi-mu-pin-with-a-beta-epsilon-phi . Naraht (talk) 02:08, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
Junior for them, but not in the usual defination with GLOs. With the 18 to 23 pledging ages mentioned in Greek Chat, Nu Phi Mu chapters would have been what we call a college/community chapters, rather than typical secondary school junior chapters. Rublamb (talk) 02:16, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
True, everything is relative. But I'm looking in the .edu domain for more info on them...Naraht (talk) 02:33, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
Wonder what Torchbearer chapters are? They are not listed in the source you found, but were in the national directory of chapters. Rublamb (talk) 04:08, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
Not sure. I'm sure we can guess on the "on-line", I'm guessing those didn't exist until the last decade or so. Let's see what google gives us. :)Naraht (talk) 12:18, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
Apparently highest, may be newer. https://www.capegazette.com/article/local-chapter-beta-sigma-phi-sorority-honors-longtime-members/303456 Naraht (talk) 12:37, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
Great find! I am focusing on location links for now, but this will all add to the main article and this article's lead eventually. There are more than 2.5 million hits in Newspapers.com; I have never seen anywhere near that number before. There are so many great articles about chapters with founding dates, especially for what are now inactive chapters. However, these do not have the chapter number, so are not as helpful as I would like (since they reuse chapter names). It just depends on how deep we want to go. I am hoping someone comes up with a single source that lists a bunch of the missing chapters. Rublamb (talk) 16:15, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
While Chapter names are reused, the combination of Chapter and city is apparently *not*.Naraht (talk) 21:22, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
