Harpertown

Harpertown - eight or quad core?

Here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_future_Intel_Xeon_microprocessors#.22Harpertown.22_.28standard-voltage.2C_45_nm.29

it is listed as quad-core, but in this section (and on main Xeon page) it says it's 8-core. I beleive it should be listed as quad-core, regaldless of 2P configurations.

Family/Model/Stepping

The Family/Model/Stepping column seems totally unnecessary given that only two entries out of dozens make use of it. I will remove it in a few days if there are no objections. 208.66.208.200 19:41, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Not a bad idea. Two remarks: 1) Some codenames relate to products that were never introduced. 2) Good luck on finding all the dates. It must be possible but it's going to be a lot of work (but then again so was composing this list in the first place). The Seventh Taylor 13:12, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Definitely agreed, I actually came here to point that out when I read this. :) Sorting on that would suddenly make this list a chornological history of codenames as well, and also assist users in finding the codename for recent technologies. I agree with having the year, but so far the few entries in this column have full dates. Are the month and day really worthwhile? Also, what does the date mean? Is it the first public mention of the code name? Snoofer (talk) 03:04, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Adding sortable column of prodct?

Wouldn't it make sense to add a column of what product the codename corresponds to, such as Processor, Centrino Platform, Chipset, etc., and thus have it sortable for users? I'll see what I can do later today. Suigi (talk) 00:39, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Almador core

There is no such county as "Almador" county in california. There is an "Amador" but that's all. Thus to speculate that the Almador codename is a CA county is incorrect.149.136.17.253 (talk) 16:05, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Most of "Named After" entries should be removed?

According to WP:NOT: "Wikipedia is not a collection of unverifiable speculation...Articles that present extrapolation, speculation, and "future history" are original research and therefore inappropriate." None of the text in the "Named After" column is referenced and a good portion of it is entirely speculative - e.g. "Possibly Lake Windigo, Minnesota" - so it shouldn't be in this article right?

I concur. This is not what I'd call encyclopedic, it's mere speculation without citation. Perhaps if someone could get some docco from Intel to verify this it'd be more "useful" information, but until then... well, what's the point? I can run a google search on a name as well as anyone else and say "Possibly named after...".

Yes, please remove them, a) Unless someone from Intel confirms, in a verifiable manner, what a codename is named after this is all original research, aka guesswork b) is it actually useful even if we had all the references ?--Flibble (talk) 14:15, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Creeks

What can be said about codenames ending in "creek"? (Bridge Creek, Rock Creek, Salt Creek, Soda Creek) Can anything be generalized about them? The Seventh Taylor (talk) 10:20, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

And what about recent names ending in ~son? I guess Kittson, Madison, Paulson are all Itanium family members but where does Robson fit in?

That article states that Cloverview is the platform and Clover Trail is the processor. And this one states the opposite! Snoofer (talk) 00:23, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
