- Comment: The list article was created 25 July, and is now complete,
however I am still (a) adding citations; and (b) minor copy-editing. I should be completed with both of those clean-up tasks by about 4 August 2026. I posted a query on DYK Talk page about when I should create the DYK, and the response was that I should nominate now, to avoid missing the 7-day deadline. So please do not quick-fail due to lack of citations in some of the text near the bottom of the list.

Article is new, long enough, and has reliable sources for Birds and Mammals. No copyvio, well-structured list. However, every other section of animals requires citations before this can move forward. Hook is good, might be punchier as ALT0b: "... that many species have recovered from the brink of extinction, including Przewalski's horse (pictured) and the Whooping crane?". Please ping me when citations are complete and I'll move this along! RabidTuberculosis (talk) 17:54, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- @RabidTuberculosis:. Thanks for the review. I agree with the citation issue. I should be done in a few days, and I'll ping you at that time. Noleander (talk) 18:00, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- @RabidTuberculosis: I finished adding citations to the article List of recovering species, so you can resume the DYK review. Thanks for your patience. Noleander (talk) 00:27, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
New references look good, approving. Hook 0b preferred. RabidTuberculosis (talk) 18:11, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
