You cannot speak of "sacred places in Israel" and the Four Holy Cities w/o mentioning Hebron, the I/P conflict and the split of the historical Holy Land, Land of Israel, Palestine region or whatever you choose to call it. That's idiotic nonsense, ostrich business. Present the reality, the conflict, the two national movements, concisely and as a brief background section. Btw, the bulk of the "holy tombs" used as Jewish pilgrimage sites in Galilee were until recently Muslim maqams - some probably built over ancient Jewish or, who knows, Christian shrines. Good luck with sorting those out. Not to mention the exact same "once holy - always holy" phenomenon affecting J-Chr-M and Samaritan holy sites in all other parts of the wider Holy Land (West Bank + Gaza, W Jordan, S Lebanon). Are you planning to write separate articles for those and place mutual cross-references here as well as there, as one must? Arminden (talk) 22:36, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

It's like discussing Irish church architecture and excluding either N Ireland or the Republic. Or the churches of Rome and excluding the Vatican, or vice versa. The TOPIC as such is BS, unless you want to write a list-type article for - nobody, really, because all pilgrims do cross the borders and visit their holy places in the entire Holy Land, not just in Israel or the PA or Jordan ("The other Holy Land", their slogan) or whatever. It's equally valid for (chronologically) Jewish, Christian and Muslim pilgrims. And Israeli visas allow foreign pilgrims access to holy sites in all of the Palestinian territories, and Jordanian/Israeli visas can be obtained at the border or at the respective embassy. So what purpose does this article serve, exactly?

A List of sacred places in the Holy Land would take a world war to gain consensus over the definition of the term Holy Land, unless we go with the existing one from the Holy Land article; but it would make sense in & by itself. Arminden (talk) 20:07, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
