- I agree that the subject of the article is not notable, despite his heroic actions on the day of the attack. Many sailors, other service members and civilians survived the attack, performed admirably and helped with the cleanup. I count myself lucky to have met, shaken hands with and thanked 12 of the elderly survivors some years ago. So I certainly do not wish to downplay the many heroes from that day. Time marches on and I am aware that all those who I met have all passed away in intervening years.
- I see nothing else in this biography that distinguishes Storer from hundreds, probably thousands, of other men and women who did their duty conscientiously, even heroically in the aftermath. This includes lack of notability for later service and life accomplishments.
- I think it is quite a stretch to call the coverage significant when other than the obit, it appears to be from local papers. I think it is not a stretch to surmise that many local papers covered the actions (and deaths) of local service members stationed at Pearl Harbor and local residents after the attack.
- Also, FWIW, I think this article is not even up to B class standards for the military history project - and it is currently rated C by the project. I will assume that the article will be kept due to Storer's actions at Pearl Harbor, a significant event in U.S. history. I will not reassess it myself. I will leave the GA assessment to someone else since I now cannot view it as an "independent" reviewer, as GA assessment guidelines require. Donner60 (talk) 01:50, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
