Huainanzi

@User:FourLights, can you please clarify what you mean by "Alongside other works, the last text, the Huainanzi, shares content with both prior works"? Thanks. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 13:20, 20 December 2025 (UTC)

maybe you could help me better word this. The Huainanzi likely does draw on the Lushi Chunqiu, an encyclopedic text. It does so extensively. However, when drawing on such texts, ancient Chinese texts do not always cite their sources. Hence, it can only be said that they either draw on them, or they share content with them. Because it might be possible they got the content from somewhere else. This does seem unlikely in the case of the Huainanzi. Given how much it seems to draw on the Lushi Chunqiu, it likely is directly familiar with the lushu chunqiu, and is not coincidence. if you would prefer to say it draws on them, I consider it a good judgement call.

That being said, I consider it trivia here if you would prefer to curate it out. I could leave it for the Huainanzi page.FourLights (talk) 13:40, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
