Edit request: update outdated titles, add recent work, and a BLP privacy trim
| Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented. |
Disclosure: I am the subject of this article and therefore have a conflict of interest, so I am requesting these changes here rather than editing the article directly. Each change is factual and sourced.
1. Lead — the Associate Dean title is outdated Current: "He is the Associate Dean, Digital Innovation at McCormick Foundation Chair of Technology, Clinical Professor of Marketing and the Director of the Center for Research in Technology & Innovation at the Kellogg School of Management." Proposed: "He is the McCormick Foundation Professor of Technology, Clinical Professor of Marketing, and Director of the Center for Research in Technology and Innovation at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University." Reason: The Associate Dean for Digital Innovation role ended in 2024. The current faculty listing reflects the titles above. 2. Modernize the advising description Current: "He is an adviser to several large organizations on e-commerce strategies." Proposed: "He advises organizations on artificial intelligence and digital transformation strategy." Reason: The e-commerce framing predates his current work; the faculty page describes his advising in AI strategy and transformation terms. 3. Add a sentence on his books Proposed addition: "Sawhney has written eight management books. His most recent, The Return on AI: From Promise to Profit in the Age of Intelligent Business (2026), was co-authored with Ashwin Mittal. Earlier books include The Sentient Enterprise (2017), which appeared on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list." 4. Add a recent award Proposed addition: "In 2026 he received The Case Centre Award in Marketing for his case study on Sephora." Source: https://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/academics-research/faculty/sawhney_mohanbir/
5. BLP privacy — remove the children's names Current: "Sawhney has five children Asha, and Bundev, Vaishnavi (step-child), Manasvi (step-child), and Moksha (step-child), with Asha and Bundev having graduated from Northwestern University." Proposed: "Sawhney is married and has five children." Reason: Per WP:BLP, names of non-notable living family members should generally be omitted. I am requesting their names be removed for privacy.
