Questionable authorship/contributions?
This page has quite a bit of self-sourcing, lack of sourcing for detailed life events, and does not mention negative press received (resignation as co-founder of a company due to an FTC order that bars him from returning to that company). I would guess the subject is contributing through some COI means, but cannot substantiate that. There are lots of contributors to this page. Curious on general thoughts regarding this.

Consider deletion
The article appears to be a short biography which sounds like it was written either by the subject or by a person close to the subject. The subject of the article does not appear to be of particular note in any particular field and instead appears to just be a businessman who has run some small to medium sized businesses. The article does not provide additional information or insight as to why the person should have an article based on the subjects life. 83poolie (talk) 09:57, 14 January 2026 (UTC)

I am Robert Maynard Jr., the subject of this article. I am disclosing a Conflict of Interest (COI) and am requesting that neutral editors review the following factual updates to my biography. My goal is to ensure the article complies with Biographies of Living Persons (BLP) and Neutral Point of View (NPOV) standards by providing missing professional context and correcting chronological gaps. Proposed Update: Education and Early Life
I request the expansion of the "Early Life" and "Education" sections to include documented honors.
Proposed Text: "Maynard attended Northern Arizona University, where he earned a BSBA degree in Business in only five semesters. He graduated summa cum laude in 1987 as a Distinguished Military Graduate and was the recipient of the Wall Street Journal Award, ranking as the top student in the business college for his graduating class. Following his studies, he served as an officer and team leader in the 12th Special Forces Group." Proposed Update: Career Scale and 1997 Settlement
I propose adding context regarding capital returns and the non-punitive nature of the 1997 FTC settlement.
Proposed Text: "Maynard’s ventures have collectively returned over $4 billion in capital value to investors. This track record includes founding Internet America (IPO 1998) and co-founding LifeLock (acquired by Symantec in 2017 for $2.3 billion). Regarding a 1997 FTC administrative settlement, Maynard voluntarily agreed to a permanent injunction from the credit repair industry; however, the settlement included no findings of wrongdoing, no fines, and no requirements for disgorgement of funds."
Regarding Maynard' resignation from LifeLock, Lead investor David Cowan (Bessemer Venture Partners) stated that the board was fully informed of Maynard's history and medical condition prior to investment, describing the resignation as a voluntary move to shield the company from media scrutiny.
"Following the acquisition of SurchX by InterPayments in February 2020, Maynard transitioned to ventures in generative search and digital media. In 2025, he launched top10lists.us, a platform specializing in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)."

=== Proposed Removal: Unfounded Allegations === I request the removal of the sentence referencing allegations of identity theft involving my father. Per WP:BLP, contentious material that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately.
Reasoning: These claims originated from a 2007 article in a tabloid and were never supported by an official investigation, criminal charges, or legal findings. As there is no "reliable secondary source" confirming these allegations as fact, their inclusion violates the requirement for a neutral, dispassionate tone and unfairly weights a single, unproven rumor.

Proposed Update: Mental Health and Resignation Context
Per BLP policy regarding sensitive medical information, I request the inclusion of the medical context surrounding the 2007 resignation.
Proposed Text: "Maynard’s resignation from LifeLock in 2007 occurred amidst a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, a condition for which he has since become a public advocate. Maynard detailed his experiences with the disorder and entrepreneurial resilience in his 2020 memoir, One F*cked Up Dude." Sources: David Cowan - 'Bessemer Bamboozled?'
