Unfortunately the Pantograph Punch came to a provisional end from 28 March 2024.[1] It took the team four years of online presence to gain Creative New Zealand funding and later be in the multi-year funding programme, Kahikatea.[1] They also received some funding from other organisations like NZ On Air for filmed media, and Silo Theatre, for reviews on their productions, and Auckland Council.[1] In a post Covid-19 world this funding for the arts sector begun to decline, which in turn meant their requests for it were more frequently turned down.[1] In attempts to save the journal a donation system was set up in June 2023 to assist writers called 'Pantograph Pals' and reviews in exchange for funding were arranged with Auckland Pride and the Festival of Live Art.[1] However as a result of little funding, overworked staff and less experienced writers the journal stopped publishing new material.[1] MurielMary (talk) 11:18, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
