dᶻidᶻəlal̕ič

I see we're doing this again @Magnolia677. Though the template "officially" doesn't use the "native name" parameter for Indigenous languages, its usage as an Indigenous-language parameter is widely accepted on Wikipedia. People clearly don't use it JUST for any language that is the first language of people other than English. This was established in the last discussion. I don't know what you have against First Nations seeing as you do this on many articles. PersusjCP (talk) 19:07, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

A consensus of editors at Template:Infobox settlement#Parameter names and descriptions have stated that the "other_name" parameter is to be used "For places with other commonly used names like Bombay or Saigon". "dᶻidᶻəlal̕ič" does not meet this criteria. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:16, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
Per RFC https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:Infobox_settlement/Archive_32#RFC_on_usage_of_native_name_parameter_for_First_Nations_placenames native_name parameter can be used for Indigenous language placenames even when not the majority. PersusjCP (talk) 19:19, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
Magnolia677: are you able to point to this "consensus of editors" discussion? You linked to a subsection of a template page, not a discussion. Without seeing that discussion, it is hard to accept your assertion that Seattle's Indigenous name "does not meet this criteria". --Pinchme123 (talk) 22:37, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
A template is created by a consensus of editors. There are 34 archived pages of discussion at Template talk:Infobox settlement. --Magnolia677 (talk) 22:42, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
I'll WP:AGF that you do think pointing indiscriminately to a talk page's 34-page archive is helpful and just ask for clarification: could you please point to any specific examples of discussion where editors agree to exclude Indigenous place names from the "native_name" parameter (the edit you first challenged)? Or even a clear discussion about "other_name" to exclude Indigenous place names? PersusjCP has linked to a clear discussion finding consensus for using "native_name" parameter for Indigenous place names, so your previous reversion of this edit is a little puzzling, given your familiarity with the 34 pages of archived discussions (and the conversation you had with others prior to that RFC, where editors were headed toward the consensus eventually established via that RFC). --Pinchme123 (talk) 05:14, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
We discussed this issue, and I'm not disputing the outcome. We're done here, aren't we? The only reason I responded is because you asked me a question. Let's move on and enjoy the day. Magnolia677 (talk) 12:02, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
I'm glad you're no longer disputing this clearly-established usage of the "native_name" parameter. I'm continuing to enjoy my day, hope you're able to find some enjoyment in yours. --Pinchme123 (talk) 22:44, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

Weather in the 30s

The book The Boys in the Boat talks about terrible weather, with a storm on October 21, 1934 killing 18 people in and around Seattle as well as causing considerable damage to buildings and forests (pp. 141-142). This seems significant enough for a mention. The storm is mentioned at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_V#Storm_of_1934, as well. Kdammers (talk) 02:14, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
