Talk:Shooting of John Caldwell

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Page deletion

Why does this random act of violence, one of only tens of thousands that have occurred in Northern Ireland since 1968, have an article all of its own? No one died in this incident and I have, therefore, proposed its deletion Billsmith60 (talk) 22:00, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Billsmith60. Your proposal is malformed. You either need to replace your tag with Template:Proposed deletion, or complete the article for deletion process fully. As set out in WP:AFDHOWTO. As it stands, you've got a mishmash of both processes. And any editor can simply revert your incomplete proposal. (And, if nobody else does, I will. As it doesn't follow either the (summary) "procedural delete" or (full) "article for deletion" process/convention.) Guliolopez (talk) 16:26, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
I started a proper discussion for you. PARAKANYAA (talk) 20:13, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
Thanks @PARAKANYAA. I've contributed. Can continue discussion there. Much appreciated. Guliolopez (talk) 12:32, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
Thank you very much for this. I find Wikipedia's processes so hard to navigate. Regards Billsmith60 (talk) 12:22, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
