Proposed deletion of John Joseph Collins

The article John Joseph Collins has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged for notability concerns for 14 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Poorly sourced WP:BLP. In ordinary times, not a big problem, but nowadays, this is a legal risk.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 02:24, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

Discussion of interest
There is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Ireland-related articles about how to style members of the Teachta Dála. Jon698 (talk) 01:35, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
- Specifically, the question is whether in biographical articles we should write "Tony Gregory was a Teachta Dála (TD)" or "Tony Gregory was a TD". Iveagh Gardens (talk) 15:02, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Category:Irish rebels versus Category:Irish revolutionaries
Editor Finestat has boldly removed Category:Irish rebels from approximately 50 articles, replacing the entry with Category:Irish revolutionaries, and, in the process, emptying the former. No discussions took place, but looking at the first several such changes, it's clear it's a completely incorrect categorisation. Frank Byrne (Irish nationalist) did not take part in a revolution. Nor did John Casey (Australian convict). Nor Anthony Daly (Whiteboy). Nor did pirate queen Gráinne Maol. It's possible some of these entries may have been "revolutionaries" as the term is commonly understood, but the majority clearly weren't. I have reverted a handful of these changes manually, and I am going to mass revert the remainder, now, using the rollback feature, in the interests of efficiency. This talk page entry will serve as the edit summary. Finestat, if you are going to do something like this, please, get consensus first! BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 09:38, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
