I searched wikipedia for "Blagger" and was redirected to this article with no mention of the word, rather than Blagger (video game)

Seems a bit sus. What gives? Oathed (talk) 19:54, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

This is also being discussed at WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 May 18#Blagger. Jay 💬 11:14, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
Blagger was turned to a disambiguation page. Jay 💬 08:03, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
Blagger is British slang for a lot of criminal and other questionable activity. It encompasses social engineering, but is much broader than that. I agree the redirect was incorrect, and may have been created by someone with an incomplete understanding of the slang usage. --Ef80 (talk) 20:31, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

What to do with "psychological subversion" article?

The related article at psychological subversion does not have strong sourcing, and it's not a commonly-used term. There's this article from 2008 and references in this article and this one, but mostly the term is used synonymously with social engineering or pretexting. So what should we do with that article? I see a few options:

  1. Redirect it to this one (social engineering (security))
  2. Redirect it to pretexting
  3. Delete it

Deleting it might actually make sense, to avoid people linking to that one when discussing political/propaganda-type subversion (they should link to subversion in that case)? Dreamyshade (talk) 22:46, 15 November 2025 (UTC)

Reversion of addition that included "Psychological mechanisms" section

See details about failed verification at User_talk:Kaolay#Concern about AI-assisted writing. The latest version updated the page numbers for "The Psychology of Security" but still had the wrong author - the article was written by Ryan West, while the citation said Bruce Schneier. What to do with "information diving" article?

See information diving - seems to be a relatively uncommon term compared to "trashing", Garbology#Investigative uses, and dumpster diving. I believe that article should be redirected to garbology, along with ensuring there's a decent related section in the dumpster diving article. Topic should also be mentioned in this article. Posting here in case anyone has thoughts. Dreamyshade (talk) 20:52, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
