False information

Editors contribute false information regarding Soldera being a part of Russian Federation. This must be removed, and reverted back to the truthful information. LanaMirman (talk) 00:51, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

Agreed. Since no one outside the Russian Federation accepts the annexations WP must describe the situation as it legally and politically is, not as some Putin Supporters might see it.--Carolus.Abraxas (talk) 01:05, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

It was just a temporary disruption by a new account. Mellk (talk) 01:23, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

Ongoing Fighting

The BBC and The Guardian are currently reporting that most of the town has been taken over by Russian aligned forces, mostly the Wagner Group from what I understand, that means it´s profile should be changed to show that it is occupied by Russians, and it´s sovereignty belongs to the Donetsk seperatists.  Preceding unsigned comment added by StrongALPHA (talkcontribs) 15:08, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

City Captured

Wagner forces have captured this city, it is now Russian occupied, at least de facto if not legally recognized  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:1730:F170:B837:C667:C312:C728 (talk) 01:31, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

Claims of Russian capture or encirclement of Soledar lack credible third-party confirmation by sources outside of the Russian Military or the Wagner Private Military Company at this time. International reporting is focusing on the claims of capture, not the truthfulness of those claims. Equally "valid" reports are originating from Ukrainian and Ukrainian aligned forces disputing the Russian claim. I would recommend either adding a "Citation Needed" tag to the claim - at the very least - or more appropriately reverting the page to its previous state, and locking the page until such time as multiple international and credible sources can corroborate or repudiate either side's claims of control. Russian names using

The only state language in Ukraine is Ukrainian and it's not necessary to use Russian or any other language names for Ukrainian towns or villages. Algonkins (talk) 13:08, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

@Algonkins: We do not use only official languages, but also languages common in the city. Since this town has large Russian-speaking population, Russian name is appropriate. Please, do not remove it again. Vanjagenije (talk) 17:25, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Destroyed

This is not even a city anymore. Like, there is quite literally nothing left. All dust. 51.174.46.115 (talk) 10:54, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

A destroyed city is still a city, unless there is nothing on the territory, and it has been re-constituted. Luganchanka (talk) 11:04, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Can this really be considered a "destroyed city"?
