'Solipsism': A Mad World

Attempting to understand this weird idea, what would be the point in debating this issue - or trying to support the concept of 'Solipsism' - if there is no world outside of someones mind? Then again, if a person was that lost in his/her own mind space/ego, do they not need medical help?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C6:27A1:5401:D158:B939:D7FC:8E8D (talk) 15:41, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

Solipsism is, at the core of itself, pretty useless, because, unlike other philosophical ideas that became popular during the Enlightenment, it doesn't try to achieve anything or answer any questions. It doesn't try to be an answer to the meaning of life. Therefore, by supporting solipsism, you would be just falsifying your own claim. It's a slippery and morally uncomfortable idea because it's weirdly pointless. So, to try and tie together all of the rambling I just did, to answer your question, there's not really a point to solipsism. But I'm no philosophy professor, so don't take my word for it.
