"Professor"? That's an unnecessary title.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.149.107.87 (talk) 08:58, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

Proposed neutral update to lead section (COI disclosure)

I have a conflict of interest as an employee of the University of Hong Kong working in Professor Sophia Chan's office. I propose the following neutral update to the lead section to reflect her current academic positions and contributions (verified by official HKU sources).

Proposed replacement for the current lead section:

Sophia Chan Siu Chee GBS JP (Chinese: 陳肇始; born 16 April 1958) is a Hong Kong academic, health policy leader, and former government official. She is currently a Professor at the School of Public Health, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), and serves as Senior Advisor to the President’s Office at HKU. She is also Professor and Director of the HKU Primary Health Care Academy, and Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Health and Nursing Workforce Development in Primary Health Care. Chan is internationally recognized for her work in public health, tobacco control, and primary health care development.

This looks fine to me, but the other parts that you previously deleted should remain as-is, IMO. MowerBreeze (talk) 05:30, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for your feedback! Sorry, I am new to Wikipedia and I did not intend to delete any previous content. If this is ok, could you or another editor please help implement the update? Thank you again. Datazonehku (talk) 07:41, 14 April 2026 (UTC)

Thank you so much! I would like to propose the following additional content for Prof. Sophia Chan Siu-chee's page to supplement her academic history, as she was an academic professor and researcher before her appointment by the Government of the HKSAR. The additions are supported by the official biography on the HKU School of Public Health website: https://sph.hku.hk/en/Biography/Chan-Siu-Chee-Sophia. Appreciated if editors could preview the content below. Thank you.
I propose adding the following three sections after the "Political Career" section:
Earlier Academic Career
Before the appointment by the Government of the HKSAR, Professor Chan was the Head of Department of Nursing Studies/School of Nursing of HKU from 2000 to 2011 and an Assistant Dean of the LKS Faculty of Medicine of HKU from 2001 to 2012. She contributed to the development of nursing education and primary health care.
