Talk:Southern Michigan

What about the Upper Peninsula?

The county map needs to be updated to include the entire state. If the subject of the article is "Lower Michigan" only, then that needs to be noted in the article title, and the page should link to the corresponding page for the UP's regions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.109.220.247 (talk) 14:48, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Not so sure about Southern Michigan going so far north

Having grown up in Ithaca, Michigan, and attended college at Michigan State University, I'm wondering about this inclusion of the Lansing area in "southern" Michigan. In my mind, Lansing is much more in central Michigan, with the dividing line being crossed somewhere between Lansing and Jackson. Emerymat 00:18, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

There is a small town about 20 miles south of Downtown Lansing Called Leslie, they have a heavy cultural tie with more of Lansing and Central Michigan Moreso, while there is a Town called Rives Junction just about 10 miles southwest of Leslie which has a mix of Central and Southern Michigan Culture And Central Michigan Culture, And is somewhat culturally tied with Jackson. I would say the line of Southern and Central Michigan is approximately, but not exactly the county line of Ingham and Jackson Counties. The like transition line is probably somewhere North of Jackson, but definitely south of the Ingham County Line. RedCedarPine (talk) 17:32, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
