I've taken out the headline image. Numerous reasons. It's a poorly-drawn anime "waifu"; it looks nothing like the subject; is it Susan Kare in 2009, 2019, 1982?; the idea of living people being illustrated by Wikipedia's contributors is iffy - it's essentially original research. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 12:34, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
Infobox photo and additional illustrations
@Zeibgeist: The {{Improve images}} template is currently being refined so that it displays additional information for biographies of living people – including a link to WP:PICYOU (see Hartmut Esslinger, for example, which has some decent examples of his work, but lacks an infobox photo of the designer). The objective is to obtain higher quality images of BLPs, and in the case of visual arts related articles, additional images of relevant work. As the photo of Kare that we are useing is sub-optimal, and she is also a major figure in the history of graphic design, accomplishing either or both of the objectives would be an improvement. It is with this in mind that the template was initially added to the article. Cheers, Cl3phact0 (talk) 10:12, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
Comment: In the event that this discussion attracts the attention of somebody with access to Kare, please note that our photo of her brother Jordin Kare is also quite low-quality. A better image of him would be welcome too (for more information, please see both A picture of you and Unusual biographical images). Cheers, Cl3phact0 (talk) 09:06, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
Image request
I've removed the {{Improve images}} template from top of the article as it's been there for a while without results. The article would still benefit from a better portrait of Kare (and perhaps more/better examples of her work). Please see WP:PICYOU, WP:UPIMAGE, and WP:IMGDD if you would like to help.
