Edit Request: 2025 Acquisition, Rebranding, and Page Move
| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello, I am an employee of Tata Steel Colors. On December 31, 2025, Tata Steel acquired the remaining 50% of the Tata BlueScope Steel joint venture, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary, and rebranded it to Tata Steel Colors.
Because I have a Conflict of Interest, I am not editing the article directly. Could a neutral volunteer editor please: 1. Move/Rename the page from "Tata BlueScope Steel" to "Tata Steel Colors". 2. Update the page text using the well-sourced, neutrally written code provided below. It updates the Infobox, intro, and history with citations to Tata Steel's official press releases and financial news.
Thank you!

Tata Steel Colors (formerly known as Tata BlueScope Steel) is an Indian steel manufacturing company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel. Originally established in 2005 as a joint venture between Tata Steel and BlueScope Steel, it transitioned to full Tata Steel ownership in December 2025.[3] It is headquartered in Pune.[4]
History
The Tata BlueScope Steel venture was established in 2005 with three major businesses: Coated Steel, Roof & Wall Cladding Products and Pre-engineered Building Solutions. The company has its manufacturing units in Jamshedpur, Sriperumbudur, Bhiwadi and Pune.[5] It has an annual metallic coating capacity of 250,000 tons and colour coating capacity of 150,000 tons.[6]
On November 12, 2025, Tata Steel signed an agreement to acquire BlueScope's remaining 50% stake in the joint venture for approximately ₹1,100 crore.[7] The transaction was officially completed on December 31, 2025.[8] Following this acquisition, the company became a fully-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel and was subsequently rebranded as Tata Steel Colors.
