shortening synopses
This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
the highly detailed style of synopsis is not serving this wikipedia page's readability. these episode descriptions describe the entire episode rather than providing brief overview or general synopsis.
such detailed descriptions are not needed, & furthermore they damage this page's overall function.
editing this episode synopses to be shorter & less detailed would better serve this page.

Not done. The summaries of episodes in this article are consistent with summaries of episodes in other articles on Wikipedia. Please see MOS:TVPLOT for more information. WP:CENSOR also applies, as we do not redact information just because it could be considered a spoiler. GSK 16:14, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- it isn't because of spoilers, it's because the overdetailed summaries are not serving this page.
- as per MOS:TVPLOT
- "Overly detailed summaries are unencyclopedic." FluffyPinkBunnySlippers (talk) 16:20, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- The episode summaries are all already below the 200-word limit specified in MOS:TVPLOT, and they don't strike me as containing a level of detail that excedes what may typically be found in other episode tables, so I don't necessarily see the need for further length reduction. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 16:17, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- fair enough. FluffyPinkBunnySlippers (talk) 16:20, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- I'm in agreement with Jamie and GSK, these plot summaries are all by Wikipedia policy, have appropriate amount of detail, and are honestly average for a television program's plot summary. IzzySwag (talk) 22:57, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
Should the last act be a seperate article?
it is well known and well documented event by news sources, and due to episode 8 and 9's length and the pre-show bit with the fish and caine i feel like it should be a sepeate article - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 19:33, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- There is in fact already plans for such an article. Specifically, there is a draft article covering the finale episode and The Last Act that is actively being worked on. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 19:42, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Finale date
The final episode of digital circus is out in theaters currently. Does this mean we can put that the last episode fo the series released on 4 June 2026? - K-popguardian (talk) 21:49, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- This is actually a good question, whether we consider episode 9 as having officially released 4 June or 19 June. I personally think we should update the article to say the series has concluded as of 4 June but would love to hear other editors' takes. IzzySwag (talk) 23:51, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- From the promotional material for the finale (particularly with the trailer & the trailer video description) it seems that Glitch has been treating 19 June as the finale's primary release date, with The Last Act treated/labeled as an "early" release/screaning. Based on that, I would tilt more toward treating 19 June as the series' end date, rather than 4 June (though I do see how one can make a reasonable argument the other way). — Jamie Eilat (talk) 00:11, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- Well, I'm more curious as to how the secondary sources are describing the release. We can also look to The Chosen (TV series) for precedent here, as that show does early screenings in theaters. The Chosen does wait for its release outside of theaters, so that does lean me towards the 19 June release. IzzySwag (talk) 00:14, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

EFN note needed.
In the Episode summary for the Unitled TADC finale just titled "TBD" for now, it says "Kinger discovers from the console that the group are brain-scanned copies of their original selves' consciousnesses, and thus incapable of entering the real world." but in the first few episodes, the Creative Artificial Intelligence Networking Entity (CAINE) said something about mind files which I can't remember as of now, so I think there should be a efn note there that says "In earlier episodes, it is implied that the brainscan theory is true, as with statements from Caine, and a few other of the circus members." shane (talk to me if you want!) 02:55, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- I think that would be adding analysis to the plot summary to synthesize things from other episodes. I'm not sure if that is needed. IzzySwag (talk) 03:15, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- I'll also discuss Caine's name here and tag @Jamie Eilat to join us, but I know that is what Gooseworx has said, but Wikipedia shows what is common knowledge and what is accepted about a subject. See WP:VNT. Additionally, as I already explained, Caine is known to people as Caine and not CAINE. It is confusing to say "stylized in all caps" when that never comes up in the show itself and is not known at large. If sources start calling Caine CAINE, then we could have a discussion about that inclusion, but as is, sources and the general population only know him as Caine. IzzySwag (talk) 04:00, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- What about his official name "Creative Artificial Intelligence Networking Entity"? shane (talk to me if you want!) 14:13, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- Please read Jamie's edit summary for why it does not belong in the article. Generally, cast sections go by the credits and information from the episode and Caine is singularly credited as "Caine" and nowhere in the show itself does it refer to him as that acronym. Secondary sources also do not refer to this acronym. IzzySwag (talk) 14:15, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- its still an acronym that should be in the article somewhere, probably in the production section. Also, many Wiki's documenting TADC have generally accepted his acronym as the official name for the character even if it doesn't appear in the show. shane (talk to me if you want!) 14:28, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

Should Jax potentially being a closeted trans be mentioned in episode 9?
its up to speculation, but due to the maid outfit, the bow and blushing, the music choices having to do with girls and gooseworx spending alot of time on jax (and she is trans) should it be mentioned? - anonymsiy.user - (talk) 07:46, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- If it were to be mentioned, it would be mentioned in the reception section, not the plot section (as that would be adding unneccessary analysis into the section). But, if sources are talking about this theory, then it could and should be include. We have to wait for reliable sources to talk about the theory first though. IzzySwag (talk) 12:14, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- Is there any reliable sources? shane (talk to me if you want!) 14:12, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- Does paratext or author commentary count as a reliable source? Today Gooseworx posted an alternate ending for Jax, captioned "Jax if she wasn't such a piece of shit." It displays Jax as a woman, thinking about how happy she is with her friendships with Ribbit and Pomni.
- Jax's identity as a trans woman isn't explicitly stated in the story, but the author clearly intended the character to be read that way.
- MichaelReed481 (talk) 00:33, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- We are discussing this at length in the most recent thread on this talk page. Generally, sources right now are still referring to Jax as he/him and the show also only refers to Jax as he/him. We must wait for sources to call Jax a trans woman before we include her here. The author is a singular source, and even they say the show itself, the "transness" of Jax is meant to be vague and subtle.
- This bluesky text is even not even discussion of the show's universe that we know, clearly discussing an alternate scenario, meaning it still would be technically WP:OR to assign Jax being trans to the show's run itself. IzzySwag (talk) 00:38, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
should we really add TADC9's plot knowing its not *really* officially out yet ?
I feel like the official releases still belong on Glitch's youtube channel, and also knowing most people still hasnt seen tadc9 (if we ignore the leaks which those arent official) Cucumber the real (talk) 18:55, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, per WP:SPOILER. The leaks themselves weren't official, of course, but the content within them was clearly the same as the theatrical release. For all intents and purposes, episode 9 has been officially released. GSK 18:59, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
Should Caine joining the group be added as a plot point in the summary of Episode 9?
It's not really specified in the plot summary how Caine as a character ends up, just as him giving control of the circus to the humans. Marhola (talk) 19:07, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- The mention of him making peace with the group kinda already covers that. Not to mention the episode 9 plot has hit the 200 word limit, so there's not much room for that at all. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 20:08, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- My suggestion was partially made with the fact that with the removal of the mention of the post-credits scene in a past edit, the plot only amounts to 178 words, making this addition possible. Thank you for the answer! Marhola (talk) 21:05, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, I was unaware of the post-credits scene's removal. Makes sense, seeing how it doesn't really matter much in terms of the summary, but my apologies for not checking first. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 21:49, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

can someone add the theatrical release date to episod nine
the episode is called "the last act" and the theatrical relese date (04/06/26 england and 06/04/26 American) also you can add caines song to episode 9 and the fish to episode 7 also add a sub bit for the start of the movie which includes the odd fish ~2026-16610-56 (talk) 22:14, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- i mean for caines song add something along the lines of "where cains preforms a song stating that he is the one running the show and is in charge" anything will do but just a clarification and the fish bit dosn't need to be added but do ubdate the time and name ~2026-16610-56 (talk) 22:25, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- Firstly, "The Last Act" is the title for the theatrical release that combines episodes eight & nine together, but is not necessarily the title of episode nine itself; we probably won't be able to verify the standalone title of episode nine until it gets published to YouTube. Next, the date of the theatrical release is included as note 'a', attached to the primary/online release date in the episode table. Additionally, the plot summary for episode nine is just for the narrative content of episode nine itself. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 22:31, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

- In regards to names, per MOS:TVCAST, "[a]ll names should be referred to as credited, or by common name supported by a reliable source". pomni is probably not going to look this up on wiki
You do realize that Pomni is a fictional character and does not actually exist, right? Honestly I don't think it's notable or important enough to include their real names; apparently it's a passing mention at the end of the finale (I've not seen it myself yet apart from the leaks), and their names were never mentioned in any previous episodes. If it was a consistent thing across multiple episodes, its inclusion could be justified. GSK 21:56, 9 June 2026 (UTC)- (Personal attack removed) of course pomni issnt going to look this up shes fucking fictinal have you ever heard of fucking sarcasm (Personal attack removed) my freind is writing a fanfiction (dunno why) and he is using all that we know from this to guide him but he wants to knkw their real names so just fucking add them its not that hard next to pomni just put in brackets "pomni (real name: Abigail) this debate started long ago its not fucking hard to fix just add them when episode nine comes out so anyone can know. its "Wikipedia the free encyclopedia" not "Wikipedia the useless unhelpfull fandom of idiots". you can delete this comment if you want for "safty reasons" but take all this serious im tiered of there being dumb exuses now stop this its boring and end of debate ~2026-33936-91 (talk) 06:20, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
- Comment on content, not contributors. Do not make personal attacks. If your friend really is writing a fan fic, then the Fandom wiki would be a better place to source for information as its goals and Wikipedia's are vastly different. GSK 13:32, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Hey Wikipedia!
Add some stuff please! 1. Add every human's real world names in their description. 2. Add a mention to Scratch in the plot, and minor characters (Scratch has a German actor, so add that too!). 3. Add Jax's real world backstory in his description. 4. Add more about Gummigoo in the supporting section, like He soon has a existential crisis when he realizes he is a NPC, and befriends Pomni. 5. Add to Zooble's description, An irritable BUT CARING. 6. Add a controversies section about the content farms, the Gooseworx situation where she said Pomni and Jax are the 2 main characters, and The Last Act critisism. ~2026-33936-13 (talk) 19:22, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi there! Unfortunately, most of these are gonna have to be declined for the following reasons. 1) This has already been declined above. 2) Scratch never appears on-screen, he's only ever mentioned by Kinger. 3 and 4) Plot info should stay in the plot summaries. 5) none of the cited sources verify the "but caring" part, so adding it would count as original research (please see WP:OR). 6) Only if it has received coverage by reliable sources. I'm sure TLA criticism will be added, but only if reliable sources give any. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 19:38, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

- For the first point, please see the above discussion at #Please for the love of Japanese gangel fix all of the mistakes in this since the 9th episode.
- For the second, listing of characters is based on cast & credits (one foreign language dub giving a voice line to a character that in the actual cast has no voice actor or crediting isn't really qualifying).
- For the sixth point, one should take note of WP:BALASP & WP:CRIT, the latter of which notes that "[t]he prominence and proportion of coverage on negative or positive materials should reflect those of what is published in reliable sources. Prominence among Wikipedia editors or the general public are irrelevant".
- For the remaining points, as noted in MOS:TVCAST, character sections for series articles are meant to avoid being repositories for plot information. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 19:40, 8 June 2026 (UTC)

Change "TBA" in the episode list to "The Last Act"
The episode was given its name a while ago, and is referred to by Glitch, and is officially named "The Last Act", yet there's still a placeholder instead of what should be there. Are the editors waiting for the YouTube release to make it that? I don't think they'd change the name after all the marketing they've done with it under its theatrical release name. Arblagot (talk) 05:10, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- Nevermind, just saw that The Last Act is considered to both episodes in one, and not just Episode 9 by itself. Sorry! Arblagot (talk) 05:11, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- If you look on IMDB, the final episode is listed as "The Last Act" so I am fairly confident that it is the official title of Episode 9. Purplebutterfliesss (talk) 00:04, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Unjust reversion
Hey @IzzySwag:, you recently reverted this edit of mine because apparently the criteria for a minor character being in the "supporting" subsection if it has a credited voice actor and appeared in more than one episode with a voice. While that does exclude Queenie, it doesn't for ribbit at all. Rerember the snow globe in episode 7 where we could hear ribbit's voice, and she was actually credited as a voice actor at the end? Plus, by your logic, kaufmo also shouldn't be in the supporting section as we just simply never knew his VA until episode 9. Is there some kind of project page in forgetting or did you just reverted based on your gut feelings? If so, your logic simply doesn't make sense to me, sorry — Yelps ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ critique me 09:51, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- I did not know Ribbit's voice was in episode 7! Thanks for letting me know. I personally still believe Ribbit should be credited as guest because that moment is so minor in Beach Episode, and she is also credited among other guest voices there. Kaufmo probably should not be in the supporting section if he is only credited in one episode. What other scenes of dialogue does he have outside of the finale?
- MOS:TVCAST was my logic here where it says, "A cast member or character appearing in more than one episode, or in two or more consecutive episodes, does not necessarily mean that character has a "recurring" role." This reads to me as saying "if a character is only in one episode, they should be credited as a guest. Additionally, if they are in 2 or more episodes, they could still be a guest role." That section goes onto say that we could look for sources on whether Ribbit is a guest cast member or not, but we can also look here for a consensus if those are not present. Uncredited characters
User:Jamie_Eilat: Regarding this edit with the edit reason:
- rv; please only include credited characters in the character/cast section. Also, WP:FORBESCON
(Link for convenience: WP:FORBESCON)
The Amazing Digital Circus#Characters is formatted as a characters list, not a cast list (according to MOS:TVCAST, cast/character information may be presented in either of these two ways), therefore a character not having an actor is not in and of itself sufficient reason for exclusion. Oornery (talk) 01:01, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- The purpose here of having the section formatted as a characters list is due to certain members of the main cast voicing additional credited roles for non-main characters. As MOS:TVCAST advises, "[i]t may be more appropriate to use a character list for a series where an actor portrays several characters." The difference of a cast list vs characters list section for a series article is more a difference of formatting than it is of any difference of inclusion criteria; MOS:TVCAST does specifically note "including the name of [the character's] portrayer" as part of the characters list format. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 01:23, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- MOS:TVCAST says to "indicate noteworthy characters" in a characters list. A character having or not having an actor does not by itself determine noteworthiness. For example, some major characters may be unvoiced, and some non-noteworthy characters may have lines.
- That said, considering the current lack of coverage of these characters in reliable secondary sources, I'll leave it be for now, since determining their noteworthiness could be considered original research. Oornery (talk) 21:04, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

hi i am sorry for my preveious language but i just want to state some things in a freindky way. 1: just add the charecters names as in the real names not the cast their real life counter parts like how pomni is abigail and gangel is zoe its not too hard to do and it will help someone in the future. 2: and a summery for the last act like "the movie started with the crappy fish..." someone might fin it usefull and 3: please just add some of the sub charecters voice actors they deserve to be credited and they are amazing people lastly 4: add a sub bit underneath "episodes" and add "movies" someone finds this usefull and this is the free encyclopedia also goosworks leaked that episode nines name is "the last act" its not just the movie name and i like it also ending this off with im not american i dont know what trumps law is i just know that he is a very bad person signed, ~2026-33936-91 (talk) 06:47, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
- 1) The real life versions of the characters and their names are not notable. These characters are not known by that name and no sources call them that, it would be inappropriate to add them.
- 2) Plot summaries are for solely important plot moments essential to understanding of the episode, so, the crappy fish intro bit and Caine's recap are not something that should be included in a plot summary.
- 3) I think we already have most of the supporting/guest cast's voice actors listed. Which ones are we missing?
- 4) We are waiting for an official source to give the episode a name. The Last Act is currently known as the movie theater screening of episodes 8 and 9, rather than the title of episode 9 itself. IzzySwag (talk) 10:27, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Possible cast adjustments
Since ep 9 confirmed that the people in the circus are separate entities from their "real life" counterparts, I'm wondering if the cast descriptions should be adjusted somewhat. It's not entirely wrong to state that, for example: Pomni is an accountant and urban explorer, or that her digital avatar is a cartoon jester; but it's also slightly misleading since that's not just a representation of Pomni, the jester is Pomni. Abigail, who is an accountant and urban explorer, is a separate person.
Note that I'm not rehashing adding the real peoples' names to the cast list, just trying to figure out a more accurate phrasing in the character descriptions. Bringing this to the talk page since I'm not sure how to best revise those descriptions in a non-clunky way. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) In solidarity 22:14, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
Should we replace the link to Neuroimaging with Mind uploading?
In the description for Episode 9, there's a link for "brain-scanned" that resolves to Neuroimaging, but I think the destination doesn't convey the meaning of the concept being explained here. I propose replacing the link with Mind uploading, which might be a better fit. NamelessRealm (talk) 18:01, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
- I agree with this suggestion. Mind uploading seems to match the context significantly better. Note that if the link is added here, it should also be added to the finale draft. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 22:35, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

Should the article for the Chinese Room be added in the "See also" section?
The Chinese Room, although being a concept explored in Episode 7 of the series is only mentioned and linked alongside the mention of the Chinese Room Guy in the Guest section of the cast. Marhola (talk) 11:11, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- If it's already linked in the body of the article (which it is), then it shouldn't be in 'See also'. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 13:08, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- As per WP:See also, this is ultimately a matter of editorial judgment and common sense. Although "Chinese room" isn't related to itself, I believe that its notability as a plot point suffices for two links. kencf0618 (talk) 01:38, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

Jax's pronouns, should we keep them as he/him or change them to she/her?
It's implied that Jax is a closeted trans woman but they never fully confirm it, maybe avoid pronouns? (like Public Universal Friend and Hibari-kun?) OxyLight (talk) 13:24, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- Note the words "implied" and "they never fully confirm it". Jax is never referred to as she/her in the episodes, nor by any sources, so I'm not entirely sure about this. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 13:27, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- Wait,I found a Bluesky post by Gooseworx basically confirming that Jax is a woman
- https://bsky.app/profile/gooseworx.bsky.social/post/3moprcfwqfs2a
- "Jax if she wasn't a huge piece of shit." OxyLight (talk) 13:40, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, this changes things. I feel it would be a bit confusing if Jax's pronouns were completely different to those used by sources while also not being explained in the article, so I believe that this deserves more than just updating pronouns. If enough coverage exists, such as the most recent ref idea I added, this has potential for a Themes section covering the transfem sidetones.
- Then again, this is a non-canon Bluesky post discussing an alternate version of Jax if things had played out differently than the canon. I'm still not sure, so I'd say this calls for a bigger discussion and a consensus, this is definitely something worth figuring out. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 14:28, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- @SleepyRedHair should there be a RFC for this? Monathephantom (talk) 14:29, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- If we're going to be talking about recent crew statements, I would would say that this need to be taken in conjunction with both the more direct follow-up statements on BlueSky by Gooseworx & Alex Rochon (found here ), & the explicit statement by Amanda Hufford of "Jax is trans 🎀 🎶 Isn't she lovely 🎶" (, + backup link because it's finicky on desktop: ) — Jamie Eilat (talk) 14:37, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- I think a "Themes" section is the best idea; Also bare in mind that Jax used he/him throughout the show, and that the idea of him being Transgender was a "big reveal", so having it on the page directly without being hidden could spoil the reveal strongly. A themes section fixes this and then allows to elaborate on other themes in the show. Jodiek.jk (talk) 15:20, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- If there are enough reliable sources, there could be something like what is done on the She-Ra and the Princesses of Power page, which has a "LGBTQ representation" section under the "Themes" sub-section (which is itself under the "Production" section). For this page, it could be under "Background and production." In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 15:25, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- My take is Jax is only referred to as he/him in the show and that is what we should go by unless sources start to significantly and en masse use she/her instead for Jax. But the show and sources right now use he/him, meaning that is what Wikipedia should use as well. IzzySwag (talk) 15:23, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- +1 I'm taking statements outside of canon with a grain of salt on this one. Even his human counterpart is still a man using he/him by the end of the show. My personal read on the trans angle was that its the intended reading of the story, but was left ambiguous enough to allow for other interpretations. Either way, unless reliable sources suddenly start consistenyly using she/her and/or referring to Jax as a trans woman, I think that change would be WP:OR (if very understandable OR) ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) In solidarity 15:54, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I agree. I already had to reverse some recent additions to List of fictional transgender characters for this reason. Right now there is only ONE queer character listed for the series on List of animated series with LGBTQ characters: 2020–2024: Zooble, in the section for 2023 and List of non-binary characters in animation. - Gooseworx today posted an art clearly showing a transfem Jax in a "perfect world" where she's not an "asshole".
- When asked by Alex Rochon on Bluesky responding to Goose's concept art about what pronouns to use due to the character not coming out during the show, the creator Gooseworx, responded by stating:
- "I personally think either is fine but that's just me. It was meant to be kinda subtle and vague, but I'm really bad at making things subtle."
- So it's fine by the creator own words to call Jax a "he/him", despite the character being trans due to him never coming out, both pronouns are ok. VitoxxMass (talk) 16:41, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- Would agree with a Themes or LGBTQ representation subsection. Seems to have been an extremely notable part of the final episode as acknowledged by cast and crew. The article would be omitting an important context by not including it Likeanechointheforest (talk) 20:04, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 21:28, 20 June 2026 (UTC) Update: So far, I've seen posts on Tumblr and Twitter about Zooble as nonbinary/genderqueer, the actual ninth episode for Gangle (with a vague sexuality), a Tumblr post by Gooseworx on Ribbit using she / they pronouns, and posts about Jax's gender questioning by Gooseworx on Bluesky here and Tumblr here, a self-insert character for Gooseworx on Twitter here, and confirmation that Jax is trans in a TikTok comment as noted in this tweet and implied in this skeet on Bluesky. I did also see Screenrant which said "After Ribbit hears out what Jax has to say about his abusive home life due to both of his parents, Ribbit removes her bow-tie and places it on Jax's ear. She tells him, "Your secret is safe with me," as Jax blushes and smiles at her. This is a huge moment for the character because it subtly confirms that Jax falls somewhere under the Trans umbrella...This confirmation is only cemented when Pomni holds him tight as a pair of flash grenades go off, triggering Jax's abstraction into becoming violent again...While series creator Gooseworx, who is Trans herself, never outright tells the audience that Jax is a Trans character, the clues layered throughout the finale tell audiences that there is something there, and it's up to them to interpret their meaning." While this is all good, we really need MORE analysis before adding a section. And now that episode 9 is out, I imagine more analyses will come out.In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 21:44, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- From the ones you used, the only one we could possibly use is the Screen Rant source, which conforms with Wikipedia's standards. It is within the norms of WP:SCREENRANT. But we cannot make a separate section just with that, the search must go on.

- I want to add: I do think even if sources do start calling Jax a trans woman, it should only be in out-of-series discussion in the reception (and or themes) section. Jax is referred to as he/him in the show for its entire run and I think it would be against Wikipedia policy to add that heavy of a character analysis into the plot descriptions. - +1 I agree with the consensus forming here. Since the character explicitly goes by he/him throughout the show's actual run, changing the pronouns in the plot summary would be confusing to general readers and borders on WP:OR. However, given the significant coverage from Screen Rant, TheGamer, and the crew's statements, we definitely have enough reliable weight to build a proper "Themes" or "Analysis" section detailing the transfem subtext and body dysphoria allegories. --ChPo ^_^ (talk) 01:03, 21 June 2026 (UTC)

- @ChomponU Pongsawet: If there is a particular concern among editors with the usage of pronouns specifically within the plot summaries, then we could sidestep that by just avoiding the use of gendered pronouns for Jax in the plot summaries entirely. Leading up to the theatrical premiere, I actually pre-prepared a version of the summaries for episodes 1–8 that subtly removed all usages of gendered pronouns for Jax, on the off-chance that trans Jax did end up happening (which it has). It could easily be extended for the ep 9 summary as well. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 13:33, 21 June 2026 (UTC)

- That Bluesky post from Gooseworx settles it perfectly. Since the creator explicitly stated that "either is fine" and that the subtext was meant to be subtle and vague, sticking to he/him for the encyclopedic plot summary is absolutely the right call under WP:V. It keeps things clear for general readers while respecting the author's intent. Thanks for tracking down that link, OxyLight! ChPo ^_^ (talk) 01:50, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- I also feel we should take the policy of consistency into mind here. We should be consistent in what pronouns the article uses, just like we would for other people who use multiple pronouns, such as Elliott Page. This means we should probably just use he/him as a constant, even in the themes section if it were to come up. IzzySwag (talk) 02:03, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- I agree that consistency within the primary prose and plot summaries is vital. However, the comparison to real-world biographies like Elliot Page doesn't quite fit fictional subtext; for real people, MOS:GENDERID mandates using their current preferred pronouns consistently. For a fictional character where the creator stated "either is fine" because it was meant to be "subtle and vague," using he/him as the baseline in the plot makes sense. That said, if the Themes section quotes or references specific critics who analyze Jax as a trans woman using she/her, we should accurately reflect how those reliable sources write about the character rather than forcing an artificial rewrite of their analysis. ChPo ^_^ (talk) 02:27, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- I just worry about a sudden shift from Jax being referred to as he/him to she/her would be confusing for readers. Maybe in situations like that, we could avoid using pronouns in general. IzzySwag (talk) 02:34, 21 June 2026 (UTC)

- I have been considering for a bit that, if consensus here did turn toward switching over the pronouns (based on the discussion so far, it seems like the recency of the matter is causing that to remain semi up-in-the-air), then it would make sense to include an explanatory note on the first use pronouns for Jax, which would be in the characters section. In that circumstance it would have to be written something along the lines of "Jax is referred to in the series with he/him pronouns. However, Jax has been confirmed by members of the cast and crew to be a closeted trans woman,[relevant citations here] which is presented in the series subtextually.[relevant citations here] Therefore, this article uses she/her pronouns for the character." — Jamie Eilat (talk) 13:13, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- Gooseworx has said he/him is fine for the character and I would definitely prefer the consistency through the article. So maybe something like this instead:
- "Jax is referred to in the series with he/him pronouns. However, Jax has been referred to as a trans woman both by the creator of the show and sources as a trans woman. The creator additionally said both he/him and she/her pronouns work for the character. This article uses he/him for consistency." IzzySwag (talk) 13:17, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- You've said "as a trans woman" twice.
- Reword:
- "Jax is referred to in the series with he/him pronouns. However, Jax has been referred to as a trans woman both by the creator of the show and external sources. The creator additionally said both he/him and she/her pronouns work for the character. This article uses he/him for consistency." Jodiek.jk (talk) 14:40, 21 June 2026 (UTC)

- I'm coming here from the lists of LGBT/transgender characters article, where Jax isn't included yet; it's my contention that they should be. Gooseworx herself is taking a "I know writers who use subtext, and they're all cowards" attitude to Jax's identity. Typically, whether a character turns to the camera and says in perfect English "I am transgender" isn't where we draw the line here, it's how reliable sources discuss the issue. After all, Dumbledore's homosexuality was accepted as canonical enough for everyone as far back as 2007, but didn't make it into explicit Wizarding World canon until 2022 (and even then, barely). I think this might be another example where something falls through the cracks because despite the character's trans identity being the strongest (if not only reasonable) metatextual reading, due to the deliberate way the character was written by a trans creative (and that point being discussed in RSes), the lack of an explicit statement in the work itself precludes their inclusion on the list in some way out of fear of synthesis concerns; c.f. Owen in I Saw the TV Glow. Additionally, I think the issue of Jax's/Leeroy's pronouns is tangential to their identity; after all, the whole point is that their repression of their identity is causally related to them abstracting in the finale. In short: if it's good enough for this article with referencing, it should be for the lists. Sceptre (talk) 02:16, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- The discussion of whether Jax should be included on that list or not is inappropriate for this talk page, please take it to that article's talk page. IzzySwag (talk) 02:20, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- Historyday01 was pointing editors here in their edit summaries. It's not not inappropriate to have a centralised place for this discussion. Sceptre (talk) 02:51, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- That was my idea. Having a centralized place makes sense. I also don't want to be inconsistent here. My general thought was once we have a consensus here, then that could applied to the List of fictional transgender characters and List of animated series with LGBTQ characters: 2020–2024, in order to ensure consistency. Sometimes, when creating entries for characters I'd copy them across *multiple pages*. For instance, if an animated character is trans I'd create an entry for the appropriate "List of animated series with LGBTQ characters" page then also put it on "List of fictional transgender characters. As such, in my view, that consistency is important. However, @IzzySwag, if you would like to bring up this discussion on those talk pages, to start a discussion about Jax there, feel free to do so.
- At the same time, I'd like there to be a consensus here before moving onto possible entries for Jax on the aforementioned pages. Even so, people are free to disagree with me on that point.
- In any case, if a section is written here on LGBTQ+ themes in the series, using the above sources, I may add it somewhere to the LGBTQ themes in Western animation page or this section of the Media portrayals of transgender people page. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 12:19, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- My take here is that this discussion is not whether or not Jax is a trans character, but what pronouns to use for him in-article on The Amazing Digital Circus and its related articles. I think a discussion on whether he belongs on a list of fictional transgender characters does not fall in line with this talk page or this specific topic. IzzySwag (talk) 13:26, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- I agree with Izzy. That is how this discussion started, after all. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 13:31, 26 June 2026 (UTC)

Addition of a new WikiProject, WikiProject LGBTQ+ studies
As per the sources and points given in "Jax's pronouns, should we keep them as he/him or change them to she/her?", I think the article is within their scope. VitoxxMass (talk) 01:21, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- Once the themes/analysis section is written and added, then certainly that should be added. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 01:25, 21 June 2026 (UTC)

debate wherever Pomni and Jax deserve their own article
since these two characters have immense popularity, people should decide wherever they need to have their own separate article, hope this discussion goes well! ~2026-35526-57 (talk) 10:57, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Whether a topic gets an article isn't really a debate, it depends on how much reliable coverage there is to verify the topic's notability. An article for Pomni is in progress at Draft:Pomni. Additionally, a Jax draft is also a good idea. Signed, SleepyRedHair. (talk - contribs) 11:15, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- There is a draft for Jax at Draft:Jax (The Amazing Digital Circus). 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he | talk to me, maybe? ) 16:43, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Sadly that draft uses a LOT of primary sources, so honestly if I have time, I'd work on it to reduce/remove those if at all possible. In solidarity - Historyday01 (talk) 11:54, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

Abstraction's meaning
Abstraction is a metaphor for suicide, which is almost said in Gooseworx's Bluesky post. Alex Rochon says that abstraction represents losing oneself in a mental health spiral, including to addiction, in his Bluesky post. It is my contention that the meaning of abstraction should be explored in this article, as it holds significant plot importance. ~2026-35934-38 (talk) 12:13, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
