according to julius ruff "The first two centuries of our period" (16th-17th century) were the period known as the 'General Crisis' not the 17th-18th century. I dont know whether to believe Ruff or this article???

There were also three Anglo-Dutch wars:

• First_Anglo–Dutch_War 1652-1654
• Second_Anglo–Dutch_War 1665-1667
• Third_Anglo-Dutch_War 1672-1674

The citations used with regard to China appear to be from the 1980s. Is there more recent scholarship related to this hypothesis? Simonm223 (talk) 09:27, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
