WikiProject Children's Literature box

This series does not belong in the Children's literature catagory. The author makes it very clear the books are for adults and also the books tend to contain these adult themes in an amount of detail not seen in a children's book: Abuse of narcotics, sex, adultery, sexual violence, murder, Treatment of politically prisoners, prostitution and discrimination. I am removing the children's literature box. for this article and for the articles that describe these books. Tydoni (talk) 16:58, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Merge Wicked (film franchise) into The Wicked Years

A proposal to merge Wicked (film franchise) into The Wicked Years was initiated in June by J·B·D: Considering that the film adaptation was originally supposed to be one film before it was split in half, it feels egregious to have an entire page dedicated to the adaptation and to imply that there are more films in the works, especially when Wicked: For Good hasn't even come out yet. A better alternative would be to have a general franchise page with information related to the original novels, the stage musical, and the two-part film. Although the musical and film adaptations are more closely tied to each other than the novels, all three share the same general plot, characters, and themes. In my sandbox I've drafted a hypothetical version of what the final merged page could be like. I'm opening this to facilitate discussion. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 17:35, 19 July 2025 (UTC)

Support merge per nom. It is not usual to have film series pages for two films, it seems that the topic is better discussed at the source material. --woodensuperman 12:18, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
Suport: I feel like merging the film franchise page into the source material is the best method of creating an overview of said franchise. Thebiguglyalien's version also cleans up the current Wicked Years page, which has lost of unsourced material. Birdienest81talk 11:13, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
I can't seem to find the version pitched by Thebiguglyalien. Are you mistakenly referring to the draft in my sandbox? J·B·D (talk) 16:46, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
Shouldn't the movies, stage musical, and novels be kept separate as they are distinctly different? 2600:4041:50F0:AA00:B586:52CD:2697:142D (talk) 19:43, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
Considering that the musical and its movie adaptation exists as a result of prior attempts at adapting the first Wicked book for film/TV, they may be more interconnected than immediately evident. Not to mention nods to the musical that Gregory Maguire himself has made in later entries, or the continuous reprinting of the first book with the imagery of both the musical and the movie. I'd also point to franchises like Wizarding World (specifically the Fantastic Beasts sub-series) and Jurassic Park as examples of book-originating media franchises where the original text gradually bared little impact on subsequent adaptations. Support per the three-installment threshold for film-series articles; create "§ Adaptations" section with merged content afterward. --Slgrandson (How's my egg-throwing coleslaw?) 15:41, 14 September 2025 (UTC)

Shouldn't the Another Day series be split into a separate article? Hurricanemaster089 (talk) 13:02, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
