Edit request from Genesys employee – Updated and Neutral Rewrite
Hi editors,
I’m Dan Smith, an employee at Genesys. I’m making this request in line with Wikipedia’s conflict of interest guidelines and will not edit the article directly.
Replaces weak or circular citations (e.g., Wikipedia references) with third-party ones
Updates outdated or unsourced content
If an editor is willing to review and implement this, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!
Not done for now: This seems to be trimming a lot of sourced content so I'm reluctant to add it in, and since the references aren't in place in-text, it's much more difficult to review. Could you make the changes you'd like in your sandbox (I've made a copy over there for you) and ping me back to re-review. EncodedTalk 💬 18:35, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
I've added the rewrite with inline citations in my sandbox. Let me know if further edits are needed. Thanks! GenesysDS (talk) 15:24, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
I also have an updated headshot from the past month that it would be great to add to the page. Genesys Chairman and CEO Tony BatesGenesysDS (talk) 15:34, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I think this version reads more like a CV than an encyclopaedic article and removes some quite well sourced content. I'm going to hold off replacing it until now. I have however gone over the live article and resolved the tagged issues so I hope that helps. Thanks, EncodedTalk 💬 07:57, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
Thank you @Encoded. Appreciate your review and feedback. There are just a couple of factual items I'm hoping you would consider to further update this entry:
- There is no mention of the honorary doctorate that Tony was recognized with in October 2024 by his former college, London South Bank University (London South Bank Polytechnic when Tony attended). Here is a link from the university announcing the doctorate.
- Tony is no longer on the board of VMWare as of December 2023. Broadcom acquired VMWare in November 2023, and Broadcom's board can be found here.
- Tony and his wife, Cori, are no longer on the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation board. The current board can be found here. GenesysDS (talk) 19:17, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
