Still..?
Can Transkei still be used as a reference to the area (for example like people still refer to the Transvaal region)? I was on google maps in Mthatha and some shops still hold titles of Transkei (such as Transkei's Advanced Driving School). Bezuidenhout (talk) 14:01, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
"nominal"
Please explain in some detail the usage of the term "nominal", used multiple times here. Loew Galitz (talk) 00:14, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- It has a link; what explanation are you looking for? Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 00:21, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- I just did a search for Nominal independence... despite the fact that the term is used various times in a number of places, it has no article; perhaps it should have. Giving an explanation here would go beyond the scope of this topic. For now, the wiktionary link will do. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 00:51, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Adding documented history of 1984 UNITRA protests and State of Emergency
Dear fellow editors, I have recently registered as UNITRA 84 to help fill some gaps in the "History" section of the Transkei article, specifically regarding the period between 1984 and 1987 as the three year state of emergency and nightly curfews enforced by the Matanzima administration are currently not represented here. I am a primary witness to these events and have added a paragraph with citations including the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) reports, Amnesty International archives, and Human Rights Watch documentation. These citations confirm the 1984 library siege, the deportation of faculty members like Prof. Vilakazi, and the detention of activists such as Father Casimir Paulsen. I kept Father Cas's detainment and torture on the record as he was a close family friend. Kind regards,
