  • Hi ISD, thanks for your comment/question over at Euphories. However, that does not count for QPQ purposes as it is neither a full review against all criteria nor a quickfail against one of the required objective criteria. Please complete the review or provide a different QPQ; otherwise this nomination may be marked for closure. Thanks! Dclemens1971 (talk) 05:21, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
    • Dclemens1971 Hi there. I've just completed the rest of the review for Euphories. Aside from the length issue I believe everything else is OK. Have I completed my QPQ now? Thanks. ISD (talk) 08:39, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - Not sure; per WP:DYKCITE can you provide a quote from the offline source that validates ALT1?
  • Interesting: No - Both hooks need additional work. ALT0 merely recites a fact that requires readers to be familiar with the Maugham Award or with Johnson's work to be interesting; otherwise, it's a simple recitation of the fact that a particular book won a particular award. ALT1 is more interesting but based on the article text it appears that Johnson did view Trawl as an autobiography, just in the form of a novel. I would suggest reworking this to heighten the interest and align with the presentation in the article.
QPQ: Done.

  • Dclemens1971 Regarding the source, the book is available to read on Google Books. I've now provided a direct quote from the book in question. Hopefully it is still within the 1,500 requirement. ISD (talk) 12:42, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
  • ISD No need to add it to the source; the practice is to add a quotation from the offline source within the DYK nomination discussion that validates the hook fact. The source remains offline for me; in my jurisdiction at least the Google Books link provides only tiny snippets and I'm unable to view the page you reference. Please also suggest an alternative or reworded hook to address the WP:DYKINT issue. Thanks! Dclemens1971 (talk) 19:34, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
ALT2 ... that B. S. Johnson's novel Trawl is based on a three-week trip he himself took on a fishing trawler? [Source: https://www.panmacmillan.com/authors/b-s-johnson/trawl/9781447200369]
I'm going to offer an alternative, rephrasing it slightly but leaving all facts from this nomination in place so I should be able to approve this if you like it. ALT2a ... that B. S. Johnson based an autobiographical novel on his three-week voyage on a fishing trawler? ISD let me know if this works for you. Dclemens1971 (talk) 13:40, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
I'm happy with the change. Feel free to use it. ISD (talk) 13:53, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
ALT2a approved for use; interesting, sourced and cited in the article. Dclemens1971 (talk) 13:56, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
