Alignment of index with targets
This should not really need to be stated but navigation pages align with their targets. Thus, if a descriptor is believed improper it should first be adjusted at its target. The mere fact that First Last (date/s) Fooian Barist does not have a citation after every word is not reason to remove it even from the targets so long as a reference in the page supports it because leads do not need to be cited WP:LEADCITE (and even e.g. Donald Trump has no lead citations) and short descriptions from which the strings on DABs etc. are taken from verbatim should in fact never have inline citations.
On the other hand, if the lead is misrepresenting the sources in the body, then it should be adjusted and navigation pages targeting it updated accordingly. However, in case of dispute the navigation pages just track whatever is in the target currently. ~2026-14944-70 (talk) 15:15, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
