In 1988, the Apple developer conference was called the "Spring Developers Conference '88" and it was held at the Fairmont San Jose hotel in downtown San Jose, CA (I still have some of the conference materials to prove that). The first conference for Apple developers at the San Jose Convention Center was in 1989 (I don't remember exactly what it was called, but it wasn't Worldwide Developers Conference). In 1990, it was called "The 1990 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference" because Apple had been having regional developers conference around the world (Japan, Europe, etc.) before that. I was on the planning committee for the WWDC in 1990.

I verified some facts with Renee Rodrigue who was in charge of Apple's developers conferences from 1988 through 1992. Before 1988, Lia Lorenzanou had been responsible for spring and fall developers conferences.

After the 1988 spring conference, the decision was made to do one big conference a year, marketed worldwide, held in the Bay Area. David Szetela came up with the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) name

In 1988, it was the "Spring Developers Conference '88"

The 2003 WWDC was scheduled to be in San Jose from May 19-23, but the location and dates were changed at a very late date, causing some attendees to complain about having to change travel plans at the last minute. --Luciuskwok 16:33, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Apple has assigned a baseline configuration for the Mac Pro, the 2.66 GHz, 1 Gb RAM configuration. This is the model that would be found in retail stores, all other configurations are build-to-order. Beta34 23:37, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Your data corresponds to the default configuration (including a 250GB 7200UPM S-ATA hard drive), which is currently priced at ca. $2500. The data in the article corresponds to the minimum configuration (i.e. what you get when you select slower processors and less hard disk capacity), which comes at a discount of several hundred dollars compared to the default configuration.

I also thought "baseline" refers to the default configuration, until I read the technical data in the article (which I know is the minimum). I don't see any particular bias towards Apple. I mean, is it not an Apple event? There isn't even any issue to debate, the WWDC 2006 section is pretty much just a summary of the Keynote speech, and the reported facts and figures therein. --Beta34 23:37, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Huh? How exactly do you feel the article is "heavily biased" towards Apple, apart from the fact that it doesn't say how great Windows Vista will be when it finally comes out? The WWDC 2006 section is mostly just a list of market facts and product information that were announced at this event. Their was, but at this point no one added information about it. I think Apple announced it stopped all development of OS 9, previewed Jaguar, and announced development of rack mounted servers; but if someone could confirm this with sources. WikipedianYknOK 03:00, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

About an hour or two after the World Wide Doveloper's Conference today, I updated the WWDC 07 section with the products and features that Jobs introduced today. Later, someone reverted the change. Just incase you're wondering, the WWDC 07 has already happened. It needed to be updated.

In an earlier version of the article dates & locations of earlier events were posted. Shall we add these again? Personally, I was looking for them in this article.

How can an article on the Worldwide Developers Conference and not mention the introduction of the first iPhone
