Disambiguation
Surely the fashion and cosmetics companies under the name Yves Saint Laurent should have a separate page from the man himself? -- TinaSparkle 17:42, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Pierre Bergé
Perhaps it is a bit of a shame that Pierre Bergé gets redirected here, since he is also the director of Têtu, arguably the best-known gay magazine in France. I was thinking of adding Têtu to the "See also" section, but then that has little to do with Yves Saint-Laurent per se...Zigzig20s 08:57, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
How to pronounce?
Hi, I'm Asian, I can't read French, can someone please provide the pronunciation of Yves Saint Laurent? thanks
Re: How to pronounce? I'm no pronunciation expert, but phonetically I would say Eve Son-La'ron whilst feigning a French accent! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.129.216.81 (talk) 09:45:34, August 19, 2007 (UTC)
Uhoh disaster! I added a link from a machine without sound support. When I check back, the pronunciation doesn't sound the way I'd expect it to. The way I think it should be pronounced is here: http://www.forvo.com/word/yves_saint_laurent/ my french is tray movay though, so could an expert give it their attention? Thanks! SeanCollins (talk) 00:19, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Pronunciation in IPA: /iːv sɛ̃ loʁɑ̃/. Can anyone add it in the article? I'm not sure where to add it.Lgsoltek (talk) 10:35, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

No hyphen
there is no " - " between SAINT and LAURENT —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.212.33.25 (talk) 06:12, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree. According to the French version of this page there should be no "-" in his name. Lgsoltek (talk) 08:54, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Exactly, per the Larousse encyclopaedia (version from 2008): ”15 novembre [1957] : le jeune homme prend la tête de la maison Dior. Il décide aussitôt de retirer le tiret de son patronyme : il devient Yves Saint Laurent.” (“15 November [1957]: the young man takes over the head of the House of Dior. He immediately decides to remove the hyphen from his surname: he becomes Yves Saint Laurent.”). Thibaut (talk) 00:16, 1 February 2023 (UTC)

PACS ?
The source number 2 leading to an article supposed to talk about this PACS thing with Pierre Berger, doesn't. Or rather there are two sources next to each other, the second one does and the first one doesn't, but I can't seem to seperate them to remove the one that's not right. 79.84.243.108 (talk) 08:14, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
His height
There is no mention anywhere as to how tall he was. If anyone knows, that would be great. 21yearoldboyfromNY (talk) 06:19, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

His book: Naughty Lulu
Yves Saint-Laurent wrote a very scandalous comic, "La vilaine Lulu" (in English: Naughty Lulu) The link is here: http://www.amazon.fr/Vilaine-Lulu-Yves-Saint-Laurent/dp/271070708X Why don't you include it in the article. This comics created a scandal in France. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E35:8A8D:FE80:9842:839A:33BC:4408 (talk) 22:50, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Yves Saint Laurent (designer) → Yves Saint Laurent – I believe the fashion designer is the primary topic and therefore does not require a disambiguator. ~2026-28085-29 (talk) 09:01, 9 May 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. ⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 09:25, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
- Well, yeah. Snow close please (if Saint Laurent designed snowflakes they would all be different, oh, wait...). Randy Kryn (talk) 15:11, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- Looks like I was wrong about this one. Too bad though, the designer was the brand, and the brand reflected the designer. Randy Kryn (talk) 01:17, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. The namesake brand is the primary topic, and a discussion should be opened at Yves Saint Laurent (fashion house) to move that article to the base name. See also Hugo Boss / Hugo Boss (businessman), among others. 162 etc. (talk) 16:58, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- Comment: We're all over the place with fashion houses. This one has no primary topic currently. Meanwhile, Louis Vuitton, Condé Nast, and Hugo Boss are about the brands, whereas Kate Spade, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, and Alexander McQueen are about the fashion designers. Ideally we'd try to standardize this one way or another, but I don't think precedent provides useful guidance for this RM. Ladtrack (talk) 03:40, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. Yves Saint Laurent (fashion house) is just as significant. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:43, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

- Weak oppose: The brand name is more well known than the person. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:40, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
