Decryption of the Z340 cipher
I think it's relevant to add the following paragraph in the 21st centure developments but I lack the permissions to do so:
In 2020 a amateur team consisting of David Oranchak, Sam Blake, Jarl Van Eycke. Managed to fully decrypt the Z340 cipher and published a few videos and a paper about it: https://arxiv.org/abs/2403.17350. This effort was confirmed and taken up by the FBI but no further progress in the case came from it. The decrypted message read as follows:
I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING LOTS OF FUN IN TRYING TO CATCH ME THAT WASNT ME ON THE TV SHOW WHICH BRINGS UP A POINT ABOUT ME I AM NOT AFRAID OF THE GAS CHAMBER BECAUSE IT WILL SEND ME TO PARADICE ALL THE SOONER BECAUSE I NOW HAVE ENOUGH SLAVES TO WORK FOR ME WHERE EVERYONE ELSE HAS NOTHING WHEN THEY REACH PARADICE SO THEY ARE AFRAID OF DEATH I AM NOT AFRAID BECAUSE I KNOW THAT MY NEW LIFE WILL BE AN EASY ONE IN PARADICE

The random letters ebeorietemethhpiti at the end of the Zodiac Cypher most likely mean “the time to be pithier” the string of letters has one extra "e" and is missing one "t" compared to the phrase, but this type of misspelling is typical of Zodiac ciphers.<ref> Zac Tyler Brown <ref> ~2026-47203-9 (talk) 07:23, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
