The article claims that minus two can be written as "−2". The source is a book: Billstein, Rick; Libeskind, Shlomo; Lott, Johnny W. (2010). A Problem Solving Approach to Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers. Pearson Education, Inc. p. 250. I do not have access to this, but it looks like someone's ideas on education, which would not support this strange notation as anything standard.
