Tapas Roy

Tapas Roy is an Indian politician and a former Minister of State for Planning and Statistics in West Bengal.[1] He was elected as a legislator of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 2001, 2011, 2016 and 2021.[2][3][4][5] In 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, he was elected from Maniktala Assembly constituency as a BJP candidate.[6]

On 4 March 2024, Roy quit Trinamool Congress and resigned from the post of MLA. On 6 March 2024, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.[7][8]
