The Ariston Theatre (Italian: Teatro Ariston [teˈaːtro ˈaːriston]; from Ancient Greek ἄριστον, meaning 'the best') is a theatre[1] and cinema in Sanremo, Italy,[2] best known as the venue of the annual Sanremo Music Festival competitions since 1977. It was designed between 1943 and 1953 by architects Marco Lavarello and Dante Datta, along with engineers Franco Ravera, Angelo Frisa, and Gino Sacerdote.[3]
