Terry was a candidate in the 2020–21 United States Senate election in Georgia.[1][2] In January 2020, Terry withdrew from the election and announced his candidacy for the DeKalb County Commission.[3] Terry placed first in the August 2020 Democratic primary and faced no opposition in the general election.[4]
