Ternovsky District

District in Voronezh Oblast, Russia From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ternovsky District (Russian: Терно́вский райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[3] district (raion), one of the thirty-two in Voronezh Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,391 square kilometers (537 sq mi).^{[citation needed]} Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Ternovka.^[1] Population: 17,761 (2021 census);^[5] 22,125 (2010 census);^[2] 25,696 (2002 census);^[6] 29,642 (1989 Soviet census).^[7] The population of Ternovka accounts for 28.0% of the district's total population.^[5]

Within the Ternovsky district there are nature historical and cultural monuments that are protected by the state.^{[citation needed]} These are the churches: Michael the Archangel (1802), Kazan (1861) and Vvedenskaya (1711), and also archaeological: Settlement (4000 BC).^{[citation needed]}
