Thad Jemison (born December 24, 1961) is an American former football wide receiver. He played college football at Ohio State, and was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 12th round of the 1984 NFL draft. He played professionally in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Thad Jemison was born on December 24, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio.[1] He played high school football at Princeton High School in Sharonville, Ohio.[1] He was a defensive back on the 1978 team that won the state title.[2][3] As a senior in 1979, Jemison recorded 659 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns, earning all-state honors.[3] Jemison also lettered in basketball and track in high school.[3]
College career
Jemison played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 1980 to 1983. Through his first three seasons, he only had 15 total receptions.[4] He saw more playing time as a senior in 1983 after the graduation of Gary Williams.[5] Jemison had 27 catches for 427 yards and two touchdowns during the 1983 season.[4] In the 1984 Fiesta Bowl, he caught eight passes for 131 yards and a 39-yard touchdown with 39 seconds left to help Ohio State win 28–23.[5][6] Jemison majored in business from 1980 to 1982 before switching to economics in 1983.[3] He finished his OSU degree in 2009.[3]
