The AI Ideal: Aidealism and the Governance of AI is a book by Niklas Lidströmer, published in 2026 by Morgan Kaufmann, an imprint of Elsevier.[1][2] It is a scientific, political and philosophical book on how to use artificial intelligence for the common good, in line with Enlightenment ideals, secularism, and evidence-based science, and to avoid digital serfdom and autocratic rule.[3][4]

Aidealism is a new political ideology described in the book. It seeks pragmatic, ethical, and novel solutions for a brighter and kinder world. The author argues for free education and universal healthcare. Lidströmer also delves into AI-driven economic justice and climate responsibility.[7] In the book, a new global ideal AI or 'AIDEAL' framework is presented.[8][9]
