Production
Development
The Four Bad Boys and Me was developed as a film adaptation of Blue Maiden's Wattpad story of the same name. The project was announced in June 2025 as part of ABS-CBN's slate of new YouTube offerings,[4] with Benedict Mique serving as director.[5]
Anji Salvacion was cast as Candice Gonzales, while Gelo Rivera, Harvey Bautista, Dustine Mayores, and River Joseph were cast as the four male leads. The film marked Rivera's acting debut and paired him with Salvacion in a leading role.[6]
Salvacion said she underwent a multi-stage audition process for the role of Candice. Rivera described the project as a challenge because it was his first lead acting role.[7]
Music
The film's soundtrack includes "Lovesick", performed by Anji Salvacion. The song was written and composed by Francesca Johnnae Chua Mahusay, produced by Rox B. Santos, and arranged by Tommy Katigbak.[8] Andito Lang by BGYO was also used as the film's official theme song.[9]
Marketing
The film was promoted as the studio's first original YouTube movie and as part of its expanded slate of YouTube programming announced in June 2025.[5] Its official trailer was released on July 3, 2025, highlighting the film's school-based romantic comedy premise and main cast.[10]
Ahead of its public release, the cast appeared in a media conference livestream titled The Baddest MediaCon on July 25, 2025.[11]
Release
The Four Bad Boys and Me was made available for streaming to Super Kapamilya YouTube members on July 29, 2025, two days before its official premiere on July 31.[12]
Reception
The film reached over one million views on YouTube within four days of its release and trended nationwide on X. It also ranked as the number-one movie on iWant following its release.[13]
