According to the review aggregator Metacritic, The Ground Above received "universal acclaim" based on a weighted average score of 85 out of 100 from eight critic scores.[2] The review aggregator Any Decent Music gave the album a weighted average score of 7.9 out of 10 from eleven critic scores.[1]
