The Kiev Trial is a 2022 documentary film written and directed by Sergei Loznitsa. A co-production between Ukraine and Netherlands, it had its world premiere at the 79th edition of the Venice Film Festival.

The film documents through unseen archive footage the trial held in Kyiv in 1946 against German Nazis who had atrocities in Ukraine.[1]

Production

Loznitsa spent several years developing the film project.[1] The film was produced by Atoms & Void and the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center.[1][2]

Release

The film premiered out of competition at the 79th Venice International Film Festival.[2]
