Development and release
Nintendo announced the Ocarina of Time remake during a Nintendo Direct presentation on June 9, 2026, with a teaser trailer and a 2026 release date.[1][2][3][4] Gameplay was shown at the Zelda 40th anniversary Direct on September 8, 2026, and the release date was announced as November 5, 2026.[5][6][7] Changes include characters being fully voice acted in cutscenes and the removal of the auto jump.[8] The game will also utilize the Switch 2's built-in microphone for players to hum ocarina melodies, in addition to the traditional button presses.[9]
