The Old House, Ightham Common
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Old House is a Grade II listed public house at Redwell Lane, Ightham Common, Kent TN15 9EE.[1]
It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors for the rare survival of a late 19th century beerhouse interior.[2]
It dates to the 17th century.[1]
The Old House is notable for its unspoilt historic interior, probably of late 19th century date (it was first licensed as a beerhouse in 1872, and did not obtain a full licence in 1953). It consists of two simply furnished rooms. The main bar, on the left, appears to be formed from two earlier rooms, and has a Victorian counter. On the right is a smaller, very domestic room.[3]
