The Republic for Which It Stands: The United States During Reconstruction and the Gilded Age, 1865–1896 is a history of the United States during Reconstruction and the Gilded Age, written by Richard White and published by Oxford University Press in 2017 in a hardback edition and in 2019 in a paperback edition, and by Audible Studios as an audiobook in 2018. It is part of the Oxford History of the United States.[1][2][3]
