The Tragedy of Pompey the Great is a 1950 television film starring James Carney. It was based on the play The Tragedy of Pompey the Great.[1][2] Stanley Baker had a small role.[3]

The Evening Standard praised the production.[4] It was one of Carney's best known performances.[5] The Guardian said it "was always worth watching".[6] The Evening Chronicle felt it "wasn't suitable stuff for a large TV audience."[7]
