Plot
After Mel Adler’s (Carney) apartment catches fire, his son attempts to move him into a retirement facility. Mel’s teenage grandson, Dennis “Jody” Adler (Makepeace), rescues him and arranges for Mel to live in his college dorm—and enroll as a student. The two navigate college life on a shoestring, with Mel even developing a gentle romance with his English professor, while Jody works a stressful part-time job. As Mel strives to maintain the required GPA to stay in school, familial bonds and intergenerational friendship take center stage.[2][3]
