In August 2025, Osgood Perkins announced The Young People under his first-look deal with Neon. Perkins would write and direct while Lola Tung and Nico Parker were attached to star in the film.[1] Principal photography began on October 20, 2025 in Vancouver, and was expected to wrap on December 12.[2] Brendan Hines, Tatiana Maslany, Johnny Knoxville, and Heather Graham joined the cast in late October.[3] Nicole Kidman joined the cast in November.[4] Filming wrapped on December 12, 2025.[5]
