From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Timberville Mound is a burial site two feet high, built on a slight natural elevation near the left bank of the Shenandoah River, one mile north of Timberville, Virginia.[1] Several people were buried there, with flat stones set on edge around the bodies and other stones placed over them. The mound was disturbed and examined in the 1890s.[1]
